Update On The Site

lovetoreadDo you often find yourself getting lost in a book to the point that you have to simply ask yourself where has the time gone? Its not hard to do. Some authors are so good at writing that they can fill your head with a story to the extent that it becomes as clear as the real life that you are living. It can be what keeps you up at night. It can turn a stress filled day into something that was worth surviving. It is simply the perks of being a book nerd, and it is something that we should all do a little more of.

The Books We Cherish

great expectationsThere are some books that we read for only a moment in time. They are the books that are well worth checking out, but they may not impact your life or become a true classic. The novels, those books that have continued to be read, even though they were written many years ago; are the ones we cherish the most as a book nerd. They are the ones like, “To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Wuthering Heights”, “Pride and Prejudice”, “The Great Gatsby” and a personal favorite of many, “Great Expectations”. These books, no matter how strange the wording, will always be something we can open and get lost in. There are also some wonderful kids books like, “Charlotte’s Web”, “The Hobbit”, and “Ann of Green Gables”. There are more books than you can fit into a single list and all of them have a place on someone’s bookshelf.

Love Your Books

bookshelfIt does not matter whether you have a classic novel in your hand or a newly printed book by a favorite author; you should always love your books and share them with others. You should never bend your book so that the covers fold beyond the spine. You should not fold pages or write in books that you love. It is recommended that if you have a book you truly want to preserve for the future; you should keep it in a cool area that is away from direct sunlight. You can dust your books as you would all other decor, but you should do it carefully. If your area has been getting a lot of rain or your home feels damp on the inside, it isn’t a bad idea to consider drying your books. Simply take them off the shelf and put them in the sun for a short period of time.

Take the Time to Read

There are many people who say that you can develop a love of reading from infancy. Parents should always read to their children until their children are able to read to them. If we can encourage everyone to love books, the books that we have now will always be “readable” in the future years. It ensures that there will always be a copy of the books we consider classics. It will also ensure that the books that are brand new to us will still be enjoyed by future generations. Can you think of a reason why we shouldn’t take care of them so that our grand-kids can enjoy becoming lost in a book?
